Onboarding checklist - Dry Lab / Computational Resources
Getting started
- Get access to the Lab's Slack workspace (ask anyone to add you)
- Get access to the Lab's Google Calendar (ask anyone to add you)
Access to computational resources
Before proceeding with the following steps make sure you already have your individual UniID.
- Obtain access to the Kaessmannserver (refer here for instructions).
- Obtain access to Rudi, Piggeldy and Frederick servers (refer here for instructions).
- Request access to the Helix bwForCluster (refer here for instructions).
- Request access to the SDS (refer here for instructions).
- Test mounting of the SDS storage from the Kaessmannserver and Rudi/Piggeldy/Frederick (refer here for instructions).
Misc.
The institute provides several software licenses (e.g. Adobe Photoshop). You can ask for them at the IT department (ZMBH IT Service, only accessible from within the ZMBH network).
As a permament lab member you will likely receive a laptop, either one that is available, or a new one (check with Henrik). Ordering new laptops (and related items) also goes through ZMBH IT department (ZMBH IT Service, only accessible from within the ZMBH network).
