Struggling with cryostat sectioning? The University Klinikum can help!
There is a paid service for generating slides and optional staining with Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) or other specialty staining through the Department of Pathology at the University Klinikum on campus.
To set up this service, we first contacted Tanja Poth (Tanja.Poth@med.uni-heidelberg.de). We filled out a project description form and then we were provided with a quotation and project number. After Henrik signed the quotation, we set up a meeting with the technician.
Our original quote in March 2024 was 550 Euros for 30 H&E stained slides.
We filled out sample sheets (provided by the Klinikum) for each sample after it was processed.
Jutta Scheuerer is a highly skilled and experienced cryostat sectioner and she generated the H&E references and Curio Seeker (spatial transcriptomics) slides for the VerteBrain project. We worked closely with her in the lab to select the proper slides and to make adjustments as needed during the sectioning process.
